Pangs of child birth to cry of baby then smiles from the expectants, followed by jubilation to yummies then indulgence starts calling for discipline bringing along with it responsibility necessitating accountability. Such is the summary of the life of man from conception till he goes to join his creator. The life of man is an undeniable futility but dutifully His (Jesus) story has changed his (humanity) story. Through a purposeful Life, purpose was handed back to him (humanity) – a much more enriched one than what he lost. Crumbles and cradles alike can now be built into castles. Castles I say not tower of babel. Within the tower the imaginations of man continued to his utter destruction. He remains disillusioned in his quest and all of creation in all it grandeur fails to appeal to his foolishness. His mind is pre- occupied, his senses deny him the perception of the groaning of all else. Enraged by his selfish thirst for the zenith; the intangibility of the mirage aches to the marrow fuelling even a deeper search for fulfillment. Yet the Light has persisted in giving such reflections as needed always. While he searched, the answer was given though he persisted in his self-gratifying duty. He continued his explorations yet the greatest gift of all time was delivered at his doorstep. Engrossed so much in the pursuit of happiness while the source of abundant joy knocks at the door. Brethren! Slow down to see the emptiness in the race. Reflect and choose the better way to living.
Beyond the law, an excellent way to live is revealed to man- the way of LOVE. In Christ we know love Rom5:8, Jhn15:13. Paul also informs us of the most effective disposition to the workings and gifting of the Holy Spirit in the believer. He instructs our mind to be overtaken by love borne out of the impact of the cross of Jesus 2Cor5:14, 1Cor12:31- 13:3. Needless to say that love and all works done by it would be rewarded by God. Remember God is love and the expression of His love is epitomized in the giving of Jesus to die for our reconciliation to Him, we are therefore expected to conform to the new life we received as grateful and responsible ambassador 2Cor5:18-20, Phil1:27.
Live in love and you have found the key to a fulfilling life and godliness as we have been endowed. Living by love means living above the law, sin and, the fear of death. Choose the way of love and not hypocrisy; consecration of the heart not separation from those needing to perceive such godly aroma which ought to be diffusing. Choose the Love life style and you are a fruitful workmanship, co- labourer and yet a faithful bond servant of Christ and God in the ministry to which you have been called. Love established the great commission and only love would promote its fulfillment.
Live in love and you have a perfect reason for all season. In Him all things consist and make sense. I dare say all things take purpose around Him, things in heaven and on earth. “Let brotherly love continue…”, “let love be without dissimulation…”, “love the brotherhood…” these among many others are scriptural instructions we received for an effective Christian living. I dare say, love could be as real as the cross of Christ among today’s believers as it was evident in the recordings of the Acts of the Apostles. A conscious effort on the part of each individual is all we need. Believe Him, meditate on Him and choose to give him an expression for Love is God personified 1Jhn4:16.
